Saunton Beach Villas, Devon

The seaside is one of our favourite places to visit, especially as a fur-family. Severus and Lily love the beach, digging, swimming and being able to run free. The beach also gives something that makes us happy and content, such a wonderful place to be, no matter the weather or time of year.

Saunton Beach Villas are a great dog friendly getaway, with budget holidays based right on the beach at Saunton Sands in Devon. From 2 bed to 6 bed apartments, all of which are dog friendly....and have no dog number limit!

Deciding to pack the pooches, Sev, Lily, Alfie & Tilly [and the humans] made the way down to the seaside. Saunton Beach Villas and located close to Woolacombe, on a very large and very beautiful dog friendly beach. Many dog walkers, surfers and explores enjoy the sea and sand. Being so lucky that the apartment is a stones throw away, perfect for the gorgeous Devon sunsets too

Although the villas are basic, they have everything needed to holiday with your pooch, and really tick the dog friendly box.

The large garden is fenced in, allowing the dogs to go in and out without worrying about them. No dreaded torch and lead walk in the evening and early morning. The garden also has a shower to clean muddy paws, sandy toes or even wet suits off.... although we still managed to make a whole new beach in the villa too!

All the sofas and beds have throws and blankets, being very aware that the dogs like to snuggle and get cosy too. There is a medium size dog crate for use if needed, as well as a water bowl to use too. No room is off limit to your furry friends, and if you're confident to leave your dogs for short periods of time this is also allowed- great for a spot of dinner or even surfing.

The villas had everything you need for a stay by the seaside, with four humans and four dogs we certainly filled our 2 bed apartment, and although more dogs are allowed I'd think about upgrading to more rooms if this was the case.
The kitchen was great for self catering accommodation, everything was clean and tidy and the beds were super comfy....we all slept so well.

Where to Visit when staying at Saunton Beach Villas?
Saunton Sands
The stunning large 3 mile beach is open to dogs all year round, with very few restrictions coming down from the car park.
A grill, surf shop, cafe and bucket and spade shop is also close, perfect for your doggy ice cream (yes! They did K'99s) and renting a wet suit to go paddling with the pooches.

Croyde
Is the next beach and town along from Saunton, a very trendy place with cute eateries and bars as well as a few shops.
The bay is a very pretty beach however unlike Saunton and Woolacombe, it does have dog restrictions seasonally.

Stopping for tea and cake at a very sweet tea rooms, with the sun managing to shine and hot chocolate and scones to keep us full. Sev and Lily joined us [while Alfie and Tilly snoozed at home] and were welcomed to sit outside in the pretty garden.
After browsing the shops we also stopped at a nice bar, with a love conservatory and outside area that the dogs were allowed in, a few cocktails later and we were all ready to head back to Saunton Beach Villas.

The Kings Arms
It's only right when on holiday any time after August, and over a Weekend that you look for the perfect roast dinner....and I think we found it.
Just a short drive to the village of Georgeham, a lovely candlelit pub serving amazing roast dinners and dog friendly.
Treated with water and snacks, the dogs were fine sitting under the table while the humans tucked into a tasty roast.
