The Bear of Rodborough

 I'm the type of person that will spend any last penny on doing something fun, exciting and making new memories with Sam and the Spaniels. I felt like a night away was much needed and over the Weekend we traveled to the Cotswolds [near Stroud] and escaped life for a night.
Having the dogs with us, when we have a Weekend away or mini stay-cation is a must, we love finding new dog friendly hotels and places to stay. We're lucky to have the Cotswolds not too far from us, so recently we have really been able to explore many villages in the area. We have other places on the list and hopefully next year we'll be able to tick a few off.

I booked this stay through PetsPyjamas as I find searching for wonderful hotels is super easy on their website, and they help you along the way if you're looking for a certain location or something to do while you're there. We also go the pet travel kit from them, which you receive on check-in when you book through them.

 The hotel we picked for our adventures was The Bear of Rodborough, a Cotswold Inns & Hotel. The old inn was full of many rooms, and a wonderful bar area, meaning that not being allowed in the main restaurant with the dogs didn't really bother us. There was also some lovely out door areas, that would have been lovely in the sunshine. The BBQ and Croquet parties also sounded much fun, and I think Sev would have joined in and chased the ball....and ate the food.

Some areas of the hotel were done up to a lovely standard, and some you could tell needed a little refurb, however our room was pleasant and I fell in love with the headboard and pillows! Just out of two doors and we were met by grass, that came in useful for taking the dogs out late night and early morning.
It was also in a great location as Rodborough Common was just a stones throw away from the hotel, meaning that the dogs could run free [with care of the cows] so we could tire them out before our afternoon tea [blog post to follow]

 Expect for the dog walks, we had a rather relaxing few days. Enjoying our room and the hotels grounds as well as the Common. After afternoon tea we decided on an in room picnic in the evening, and I got to test of the bath with lots of bubbles.

The morning was filled with much of the same, puppy cuddles and cups of tea in bed. Sev wanted to order room service, but we decided to eat in the Common Room, located near the bar but more of a lounge area with tables and chairs and sofas too. We ate afternoon tea here too, and it felt a little more cosy and homely than the bar, but great that the dogs were allowed and they had normal height tables and chairs...I really hate when they only have low tables.

We ended our trip with a visit to a new by farm shop, that was true insta-dreams, which I'll share in a forthcoming blog post. We also managed to find some wonderful hay bales, and countryside views with miles of fields to run free.
