Based in the South of Devon, gave for the chance to adventure and explore the lovely area and places that we hadn't had the chance to visit before.
Devon and Cornwall are well known for being dog friendly, and this area was no different. Even in the chilly January week days, we spotted many a dog accompanied by their human.
Babbacombe Beach
Just a stones throw away from Cary Arms, it truly felt like our private beach that was perfect for early morning and late night trips with Sev and Lily.
Lots of pebbles, rocks and some sand, it's a lovely little beach that does the job. We met up with Michelle, Pete and Betty for a walk here too, as she lives in the area.
You can walk all the way around the cove, heading to a beach on the other side [that has a cafe open from March] which makes for a sweet little walk and some gorgeous views.
Dartmouth
Somewhere we've never visited before, but recommended by Michelle, it sounded the perfect place to take the dogs. We soon found out that it's a wonderfully dog friendly town, and so very pretty. The perfect coastal town with sweet shops and cafes, brightly coloured houses and gorgeous views.
Of course Sev and Lily sniffed out a little pet shop, so we could stock up on [even more] goodies for them.
Everywhere we went the dogs got fussed and were happily welcomed with treats into most of the shops.
Cafe Alf Resco
Dartmouth had many dog friendly cafes, welcoming then in so they could join you for breakfast or just a coffee. Spotting Cafe Alf Resco straight away for how awesome it looked from the outside, and how cosy it looked inside. Heaters warmed the [covered] outside area, with blankets over the chairs to keep snuggled. The menu was mouth watering, and they were even able to offer me a custom milkshake....chocolate and peanut butter of course.
Sev and Lily got a sausage each whilst at the table, and attracted over almost everyone leaving or entering the cute cafe.
Strete Gate Beach
In the lovely pet shop, the owner gave us some ideas for dog friendly beaches, not too far from Dartmouth. Much appreciated, we made our way out of town and found the coast of gorgeous beaches.
Strete Gate beach is do friendly all year round, and just beautiful. Mainly sand, and stretching for miles, we almost had this stunning beach to ourselves. The dogs swam and ran, chasing their ball and having the best time by the seaside. It was really very gorgeous, and shows how pretty [and wonderfully dog friendly] South Devon is.
Broadsands Bay
A sweet little beach, closer to the Cary Arms. Sadly dogs are banned in Summer, but it was perfect for our January stroll. A little cafe was open for drinks and ice creams, and there's also a great grass areas that the dogs can run along too.
The beach was lined with gorgeous beach huts, bright ones and pastel ones, only imagining what a bustling place it must be in the warmer weather.
