A Day in The Cotswolds

A day in the Cotswolds was just what we needed, with the sun shining and both Sam and I off work, we packed our bags and the dogs into the car and made our way to the gorgeous Bourton on The Water.

We're very lucky to be so close to this part of the country, but it still feels so special visiting the beautiful Cotswold towns.

First on our stop was Bourton on The Water, a lovely Cotswold Town on a stream, perfect for paddling in the sunshine and even more perfect for two spaniels to splash around in.

Our dog walk took us away from the hustle and bustle of people crowding the stream, past the Bakery and along a path that brings us to more water. Perfect for more swimming spaniels.

Walking our way around the town, stopping at the pretty gardens and even for ice cream. The town filled with many other dogs, friends and families all enjoying the sunshine.

Soon we made our way back to the car for our next stop, not far at all, is the beautiful Lower Slaughter.
The Slaughters have always been on the list to visit for so long, and it really was everything and more. A smaller and quieter village, but still with many tourists visiting, stopping in the cafe and pretty hotels.

Having a booking at The Slaughters Country Inn, a dog friendly hotel, with stunning grounds and even a stream at the end of the garden.
Afternoon tea was in order, with scones, cakes and sandwiches, perfect to fill our bellies after a day of exploring.

With afternoon tea done, and wine drank, we soon took Sev and Lily for another splash. The Slaughters have the most amazing swimming spots, that the dogs loved, and certainly cooled them off in the warmer weather.

Ending our time in Lower Slaughter making our way around the stunning Cotswold stone streets, stopping to lust after pretty cottages and stopping at the Old Water Mill, enjoying the slow and relaxed country life.

Before heading home we stopped at the pretty poppy field, between Stow and Burford. A stunning countryside field with golden fields and red poppies.

The dogs jumped and ran through the flowers while we enjoyed the sun setting and warm light over such a wonderful day in the Cotswolds ♥
