Brecon Retreat: The Old Shearing Shed

If you've been here for a while, Brecon Retreat won't be new to you, however having not visited for a while, we couldn't wait to get back!

Brecon Retreat have 5 stunning properties, 3 of which are new barns, and where we stayed this time. The Old Shearing Shed is a gorgeous 2 person, 2 dog accommodation which was utterly perfect for us.

I've always boasted how dog friendly Brecon Retreat is, and honestly this was no different, such a great dog friendly holiday place to stay, whilst feeling so special and full of luxury and care at every detail.

The barn offers a stunning and cosy living area, with more than enough space for two, everything is stunning and thought about. With fires, large TV's, beautiful furniture and gorgeous little touches. The kitchen has everything you may need, as well as the outside area with BBQ and seating areas. Not only is the massive bed comfortable, the bedroom was light and had the most lovely views, being woken up with lambs baa-ing. The copper free standing bath is a stunner, jaw dropping for someone who adores a bath, not only this but there's also an garden spa room (!!!) with doors that can open right up, loungers, a fire, music playing and that jacuzzi bath.

Both humans and hounds were welcomed with welcome packs, the dogs had a bed to use as well as treats and poo bags, we had some Welsh goodies which were just such a lovely touch.

The dogs are allowed on the sofa, and anywhere in the barns, but advised to stay out the tubs and the bed. They also have a warm tap outside to use for the muddy paws, as well as towels to use for them too. The garden has a great grass area and everything is secured with a fence, which was tall enough for Sev and Lily not to go say hi to the sheep!

We could of easily stayed at this gorgeous place the whole time we were in Wales, and the weather almost made that happen, but we did manage to get out and visit a few places.

Llyn y Fan Fach
Such a gorgeous walk up to this lake, although their are sheep around, there are spaces in between to let the dogs off. The walk wasn't easy (for unfit fat humans) but it was so gorgeous and felt lovely to get up there. You can go further, and look down onto the lake too. The dogs loved it, and of course had a paddle.

Waterfall Country
The weather was perfect for waterfalls, and we hiked to see one of the bigger ones and another on the way back. To do all the waterfalls takes around 4.5hrs and you can wild swim and head behind some of them too.
